"1 Jour 1 Dessin" means 1 Day 1 Drawing in French. I came up with this little game on Google+ as a way to drive more engagement and to have fun, to do some practice and to draw things I would have never done by myself. And it was that kind of "new year great resolution"... It lasted about 2 months, 5 days a week. I had to rest during the week-ends. I ended up doing literally nothing else.
The rules were pretty simple. Each morning, I did a post where people would come with some suggestions for me to draw. They would vote by plussing the comments. No more suggestions after 8pm. Another hour for the final votes. And then I would have the night to draw the winning suggestion. Post the result at 9am and the game would start over. If the winner wanted, I also send her/him a HD version, or the original drawing if I did it on paper. And to be fair, a winner had to wait 2 weeks before suggesting a new idea, but could still vote.
So, here are the 30 drawings, in chronological order. Yep, I have a lot of geeks in my circles. I started with the French community, so the suggestions will be translated alongside the original text.
And finally, a big thank you to all people involved in that game.
Day 1 • Doctor Who
"Tardis ! bah oui faut rendre hommage à Matt Smith avec du nœud papillon, du tournevis sonique et évidemment du Fez !" Tardis! yeah, we have to pay a tribute to Matt Smith, with some bow tie, the sonic screwdriver and of course some Fez! Request by Thomas.
Day 2 • Assassin's Creed Girl
"un assassin, (cette fois une femme ! faut un quota de boobs là) faisant le saut de la foi en contre plongé avec les aigles autour." An assassin (this time a girl! we need our boobs' quota) doing the leap of faith, low angle view, with some eagles around. Request by Jennifer. (I know, there is a mistake, it's not the right jump)
Day 3 • Game of Thrones
"Un face à face entre Jon snow et son loup et Khalessi et son dragon devant le trône de fer en fond" A confrontation between Jon Snow and his wolf and Khalessi and her dragon with the iron throne in the background. Request by Gregory. (Someone asked in the comments if she could be naked. And then I discovered that skin tone is pretty hard to get right.)
Day 4 • Mass Effect
"Commandant Shepard sortant vivant du catalyseur - Avec Tali si possible (siouplé siouplé !!)" Commander Shepard getting out alive of the catalyst - With Tali if possible (please, pretty please!!) Day 5 • Back to the Future

Day 6 • Big Geek Themes Mashup
"Un Minion de moi moche et méchant (avec 2 yeux). Son œil droit est couvert par un bandeau de Konoha (Naruto) porté
en cache-œil.
Une cicatrice en dépasse, souvenir de l'époque où il se faisait appeler Albator.
A la ceinture du Minion se trouve un pistolet laser blanc : c'est celui que lui a offert le Capitaine Flam sur son lit de mort.
Derrière sa corne (Eh oui, celui-ci s'est laissé pousser les cornes de Goldorak - il a les épaulettes astérohache également) se trouve son tournevis sonique, dernier vestige de sa planète natale, Gallifrey.
Dans son dos on devine la forme cabossée du bouclier d'Hyrule qu'il a ramassé sur le cadavre fumant de Link en jurant de le venger.
Il est juché sur un nuage magique (Nuage au-dessus, mécanique steampunk en-dessous - on voit dépasser une étiquette d'un des tuyaux avec un drapeau anglais "1.21 Gigawatts" et un drapeau français "2.21Gigowatts"), avec à ses côtés l'amure d'or de la Balance en position de repos (->> image de référence), son éclat terni par le sang de ses infortunés camarades chevaliers. Dans un des plateaux, une souris blanche tatouée 42 sur la fesse fait pencher le balancier, allégorie vivante de cette techno-science en quête de réponses insensées qui a fait basculer le monde vers le cahos.
Autrefois elle l'a aidé à trouver la paix de l'esprit et l'équilibre intérieur pour éveiller son 7e sens, mais désormais il n'a plus besoin de sa protection.
Car désormais son arme fait partie de son corps, et c'est au psychogun qu'il va abattre l'ennemi.
Sur ses abdos gonflés, on devine 7 cicatrices qui forment la constellation de la Grande Ours.
A l'autre bout, dans le ciel, on distingue sa cible dans le ciel étoilé : il s'agit de l'Etoile Noire, vers laquelle se courbe le rayon du psychogun...
La Force est avec lui. Il ne peut que vaincre. Pour ses amis. Pour son honneur.
Et ensuite il pourra enfin se laisser tomber sur le sol et connaître le repos de la mort."
A Minion from Despicable Me (with 2 eyes). His right eye his hidden by the Konoha headband (Naruto) worn as
an eye patch.
A scar sticks out of it, a reminder of when we was known as Captain Harlock.
Behind his horn (yep, he grew himself some horns, those of Goldorak - he also has his shoulder pads) is a sonic screwdriver, the last vestige of his home planet, Gallifrey.
He is on a magic cloud (cloud top, steampunk mecanics underneath - on one of the pipes, we can see a label with the British flag reading "1.21 Gigawatts" and another, a French one, with "2.21 Gigowatts". At his sides, at rest, there is the gold Libra Cloth [Saint Seyia - >> ref. image], its luster tarnished by the blood of his unfortunate fellow knights. Inside one of the pans, a white mouse with 42 tattooed on her buttocks is tipping the balance, a living allegory of this techno-science madness searching for insane answers, becoming responsible for burning down the world and creating this big chaos.
Once the mouse helped him in finding his peace of mind and the inner balance to awaken his 7th sense, but now he no longer needs her protection.
Because now, his gun is part of his body, and he will shoot down the enemy with the psychogun.
On his flexed abs, we can perceive 7 scars drawing the Ursa Major.
The Force is with him. He can't loose. For his friends. For his honnour.
And then he will finally let go, fall down on the ground, and embrace a peaceful death.

Day 7 • Star Wars Campfire
"Yoda et dark Vador assis sur l'étoile noire, qui grillent des saucisses autour du feu en jouant de la guitare, R2D2 est coupé en 2 et sert de glacière rempli de bière, avec princesse Leïa qui leur sert à boire" Yoda and Darth Vader sitting on the Death Star, burning sausages around a campfire while playing the guitar, R2-D2 is cut in half and is used as a cool box filled with beers, and Princess Leia is serving them some. Day 8 • Calvin & Hobbes Mashup

Day 9 • Freddy Krueger

A sleeping teen, in her nightdress, dreaming of Freddy Krueger, chasing her in a dark alley. Important detail: this is the first Freddy (Robert Englund) in the original film with his red and green stripes sweat with red sleeves. Request by Thierry.
Day 10 • Betty Boop & Darth Vader
"Pour rester dans la période "Soldes", Betty Boop sortant avec son "Jules" Dark Vador faire les soldes pour le rhabiller un peu et lui mettre un peu de couleur dans son noir costume." To stay in the "sales period", Betty Boop going to the sales with his "Boyfriend" Darth Vader to dress him a bit and to put some colours in his black suit. Request by Nathalie.
