It had been quite some time that I wanted to visit Florence. Especially after having watched the Medici, Masters of Florence series on Netflix.
A colleague of mine, back when I was living in Lisbon advised me to go there during the Spring. But karma, my boss, the weather or my bank account, or all combined, prevented me to do so. I also wanted to avoid the summer peak season. And then, by the time the summer touched to its end, the stars aligned. I was now living in Barcelona, so closer to Italy, my boss wasn't nicer than the previous one, but my schedule was friendlier on the off days front, and my bank account looked definitely nicer. And even better, in mid September, the bad local weather pushed me to look for greener, sunnier and bluer places, which was the case in Florence.
So perfect time to take off for a couple of days to Tuscany and enjoy some art. Loads of art. Unfortunately I wasn't the only one who had that idea. Far from it.
