There is a monthly theme challenge on Design by Hümans apparel website. And for August they've chosen "Anchor Aweigh".
As usual I started with pen and paper. But when came the color part, I tried to do the background directly, with my watercolor markers. It was a disaster. After trying for hours to fix it, I took a break and went on another project. It was the right thing to do. Because a few days later I stumbled upon an amazing Russian painter, who had captured sea waves in an incredible way.
So I went back to it, but went digital, with the Procreate iPad app, and tried to do that realistic and translucent vibe that the Russian artist had done so well.
